About Joanne Turner
Joanne Turner is an award winning, dual qualified Accredited Practising Dietitian and Exercise Physiologist, with a double Masters of Science Degree from the University of Wollongong, and over a decade of experience.
Joanne is the director of NuActive Health, a Nutrition, Dietetics and Lifestyle consultancy business based in Sydney, Australia. NuActive Health consults to thousands of individual clients, as well as elite sporting teams, corporations, government and non-government organisations, the food industry and the media.
Joanne is one of Sydney's top sports nutritionists, working with a range of high profile and elite sports people. Using the latest nutrition science, Joanne optimises her athletes' training and athletic performance. Joanne also gives expert sports nutrition supplement advice to athletes, but believes a good diet is the first requirement of performance nutrition.
Joanne is a true innovator and because of this she has been an invited member of many government, food industry and corporate boards bringing fresh practical ideas, digital and small business knowledge.
Joanne is an experienced communicator and public speaker. Joanne is truly an inspirational and motivational person, with a unique ability to adapt her advice to be practical and easy to understand for personal or organisational needs.
Joanne grew up in front of the camera, with 10 years professional media training, 15 years experience in television, and years of experience with weekly radio segments. As a parent, Joanne is very passionate about helping improve the health of the next generation. She has additional training in paediatric nutrition and exercise. She sees many young children and adults at her clinic, consults to schools and is the convenor of the Dietitians Association of Australia's Paediatric and Maternal health interest group. Joanne is also the consultant dietitian and exercise physiologist to Nickelodeon, helping them make health conscious programs for kids and promote health and nutrition through their Let's Play initiative.
